Columbia Restaurant Closures & Shiny New Replacements

So sad to see the sign taken down from the former Fuddruckers. It was such a great restaurant with fun decor, fast service, great choices (where else can you get an ostrich burger?!), a toppings bar, and an ice cream parlor too!

It reminded me that I am STILL bitter about its old next door neighbor, Rocky Run Tap & Grill closing down. It has been closed for 8 years now, so you’d think I’d be over it by now!

Columbia Ale House is a welcome replacement with a great assortment of craft beers, local brews,  and craft cocktails. It also offers a pretty unique, housemade food menu that does not disappoint. Plus, it takes reservations, which is a BIG plus in Columbia’s busy restaurant scene!

Columbia Ale House is a little more upscale than its predecessor, Rocky Run though and certainly doesn’t have that casual, kitchy charm.

What I wouldn’t do for a Bar Wench Brew and a Dickie’s Hawaiian Hula Bowl right now!!

I really hope that we get a fun, independent restaurant to move into Fuddruckers spot! I also just heard that BJ’s Restaurant & Brew House will be replacing long-gone Macaroni Grill at Columbia Crossing aka “Target Shopping Center” off Route 175. They will boast a craft beer menu featuring their own brand of brews and extensive food choices ranging from specialty pizzas to healthy fare.
