Our Dining Experience
I had been meaning to check out Timbuktu for a while. My colleague was visiting from North Dakota and wanted to try Maryland crabs so it was the perfect time to visit!
Timbuktu Restaurant Drinks
We also got a rum cocktail. While Walk the Plank is the crowd favorite, I went for my favorite, Mai Tai. Served in a generous sized glass, it hit the spot. Other interesting drinks include the Snowball with Hypnotiq and a sweet sugar rim and the Whiskey Smash with muddled mint and sugar.
Timbuktu has a happy hour menu with food and drink specials. It is a great way to try out different drinks! They also have a sizeable selection of draft beer!
Timbuktu Dining Experience
Timbuktu is a large restaurant with lots of seating available. That said, it is a popular place! Restaurant reservations are recommended…especially if you plan to dine during peak hours or any time on weekends!
The Timbuktu menu offers lots of choices! Appetizers include fresh oysters, baked oyster rockefeller, and the Timbuktu hors d’oevres platter that includes mini crab cakes, large shrimp, sea scallops, and pork ribs.
The world-famous crab cakes are made fresh to order. You can get them in different sizes including a 10-ounce colossal crab cake! Other entree choices include stuffed lobster tail, seafood combination plates, New York strip, filet mignon, and a 16-ounce porterhouse.
Timbuktu also has six signature entrees, sandwiches, salads, and a kid’s menu. On Tuesday nights, kids 10 years old and under eat free. Check their website for additional weekly dining deals!
While I don’t eat seafood or steak (I’m a cheap date!), she said the Stuffed Mushrooms with lump crab meat were amazing. I opted for their homemade honey garlic glazed chicken fingers, which were cooked perfectly to a crisp.
Restaurant Service
Our server was very friendly and prompt. He offered menu suggestions and kept us informed of when our food would be out.
I accidentally left my bag on the chair when we left. Luckily, my friend and I were outside catching up for a good five minutes and a worker I hadn’t even seen in the restaurant ran out to return it to me. That really saved me some grief!
Timbuktu To Go
Timbuktu has a carry out menu if you do not wish to dine on-site. You can also order via Door Dash and Grubhub.
