Sound familiar?
Thiѕ iѕ thе numbеr оnе reason given for not having a daily workout plan: a lack of timе. But likе so mаnу “rеаѕоnѕ” for nоt dоing thе thingѕ you know уоu ѕhоuld be doing to bеttеr уоur life аnd your hеаlth, it’ѕ rеаllу juѕt аnоthеr еxсuѕе.
Thе truth iѕ, you find timе fоr thе thingѕ you wаnt tо find time fоr. Whеthеr it’s a fаvоritе TV show, a сhild’ѕ ѕоссеr gаmе оr dаnсе rесitаl, оr getting tоgеthеr with friends оr family, if it is important tо уоu, ѕоmеhоw уоu mаnаgе tо ѕԛuееzе it in.
Why not give уоur hеаlth аnd wеll-bеing thе ѕаmе lеvеl оf imроrtаnсе? Once уоu hаvе made еxеrсiѕе a top рriоritу, уоu’ll bе ѕurрriѕеd hоw еаѕу it becomes tо fit a wоrkоut intо a buѕу ѕсhеdulе.
Start Somewhere
I cringe when I hear people say that they need to get back into their “routine”. Another one I don’t understand is when people want to drop a few pounds BEFORE they start to exercise. As if exercise is some big event that you need to figure out. Guess what?
Any activity is better than none. I will repeat this phrase again. Just start somewhere. It does not have to be a marathon. Go for a walk around the block. Challenge your kids to do 10 push-ups before they start their nightly routine. Get up just 5 minutes earlier and do a mini cardio series to wake yourself up!
Set yourself up for success:
Dress the part.
Set out your workout gear ahead of time including shoes, socks, and accessories like headphones and a jogging belt. Plus, wear comfortable clothing that you look and feel good in! Below are some of my favorite Adidas options for sports and life on the go!
Recruit helpers.

You can also get your workout in while you are running errands. Some examples are that you can park farther away from your destination, take the stairs instead of the elevator, or speed walk through the warehouse store.
Kids are a great exercise motivator! They have tons of energy! Grab them for a quick 15-minute Family YouTube Workout. Clear some floor space and dance to a few Zumba Workout songs. Or have them do a quick family fun run around the block with you before dinner.
Having a spot in the house that allows your family to decompress and get active is also a great motivator! Porch.com recommends installing a mirror and having a music player nearby for inspiring dance activities! A mini trampoline or an agility ladder make the perfect home gym accessories to encourage an indoor family cardio circuit workout!

Exercise is a huge stress reliever! The Mayo Clinic cites that exercise boosts the production of your brain’s endorphins, which make you feel better. Exercise also increases the production of serotonin to stabilize mood. Harvard Health adds that the repetitive nature of exercise activity can help relax the mind with “muscular meditation“. Daily exercise can also combat high blood pressure that can be caused by stress.
Exercise to improve your productivity.
This may seem counter-intuitive, but taking time to exercise actually helps you get more done! Exercise is the number one productivity habit that the world’s most successful leaders have in common. CNBC Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, and Richard Branson that exercise is the number one habit that super-successful people have in common. I’ve rearranged my schedule to fit exercise in earlier so I ensure I do it. When I left it for night, I was always too tired. During this pandemic, I need to stress release and it’s been really helpful.

Peppering in a workout during your work from home day is such a good tip! I used to workout on my lunch hour when I was still in the office and I really need to try and get that back into my routine!
Although now, during this pandemic, I’d have enough time to work out, I do it even less than before which, obviously, shows in an unpleasant way. At least I bought a bike so that I get a little exercise while doing chores. I really need to bookmark your post and hope to get my buttom up more often 😉
