What to See & Do at the Annapolis Bay Bridge Boat Show

The Annapolis Bay Bridge Boat Show is a fun event to attend whether you are an avid boater or just window shopping. It is the biggest in water boat show in the Northeast featuring over 400 boats from modest 8-foot boats to 70 foot million dollar plus luxury yachts. In addition to this show, there are three other U.S. Boat Shows held in the Annapolis area annually.

About the Annapolis Bay Bridge Boat Show

The Bay Bridge Boat Show has been held at the Bay Bridge Marina in Stevensville, Maryland for over 30 years. President of the Annapolis Boat Shows, Paul Jacobs, recently noted that there is a “resurgence of boating as the go-to family activity for fishing, weekend cruising, picnicking, ski and wake boarding, and exploring the many tributaries to Chesapeake Bay.”

It is a lot of fun to walk around and browse the boats on display. There are also daily free seminars, over 100 boat-related demonstrations, exhibitors, and vendors selling boat-related merchandise, food, and beer. Kids will love the moon bounce, face painting, and other childrens’ activities too!Bay Bridge Boat Show - Vendors & Exhbits

Inside a Million Dollar Yacht at the Bay Bridge Boat Show

We always love to hop on-board the biggest and best yacht at the Annapolis Bay Bridge Boat Show.  One of our favorite fancy boat picks is the $1.5 million dollar Cruisers Yachts 50 Cantius. Take a look inside!Bay Bridge Boat Show - Yacht ViewBay Bridge Boat Show - Yacht Window Shopping

The main deck seating has the softest leather and a kitchen and social area with all the amenities including a convection oven. The cockpit has ample seating along with a wet bar, grill, and shower.

The carpeted cabin area had three bedrooms: a spacious master stateroom with a private bathroom, a bunk bed stateroom, and another double bed sized stateroom along with another bathroom in the main hall. I definitely could stay on that yacht forever! Shopping at the Bay Bridge Boat Show

There is a huge tent with boat and travel-related merchandise to browse through at the show. Even though we are not luxury yacht owners, it is always fun to see what kinds of cool products there are each year. Plus, there are general travel products and artsy housewares that tend to pique our interest.

The ugo iPhone Life Jacket

There were two nifty travel products on exhibit at the Annapolis Bay Bridge Boat Show that we attended. The first one was called ugo…the first waterproof life jacket for your phone!

It is a waterproof wallet with a patented zipper made of the same material used in hazmat suits. It is also submersible up to 15 feet and floats if it falls in the water. The case can be worn several ways and also has room for a second phone, money, keys, and other necessities when you’re at on the water.

The Portable Jupiter Bike

The second product we loved is called a Jupiter Bike. It is an electric powered bicycle that can go up to 15 miles an hour. It can fold up into a rolling backpack accessory and can go 10 miles on a single charge. You can test drive the bike at the show as well.

Other Annual Annapolis U.S. Boat Shows

There are a total of four boat shows held per year. The spring season kicks  off with the Bay Bridge Boat Show! This event is our favorite because it features luxury yachts. We can pretend we are rich celebrities…if only for a second! The second show of the spring is the U.S. Sailboat Show at the Annapolis City Dock. This event features sailboats of all sizes on land and water and it also features the Annual Junior Keelboat Regatta. Spectators can watch regional high school sailing teams compete. Spectators can also enjoy free drink tastings and music while browsing sailboats and shopping vendor booths.

In the fall season, there is another U.S. Sailboat Show. In the fall, cruises are also available that tour past the United States Naval Academy and Chesapeake Bay (additional fee required). The year wraps up with the U.S. Powerboat Show. This event features fishing boats from 50 different manufacturers, plus a plethora of new and pre-owned boats available for immediate sale.

  1. Perhaps it’s because I live in the most landlocked state in the nation, but I’ve never been to a boat show. Seems fun! (And a bit like an RV show, but on the water!) 😀

    1. Exactly! They actually have a handful of RVs there too along with craft vendors and food so it makes it fun to walk around and window shop…I mean, I could maybe afford a yacht window I think! 😉
